An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to join the senior nursing team on Loxley Ward as Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse.
Loxley Ward is an Oncology /Haematology ward and we care for a diverse group of patients often due to the side effects of their Cancer treatments, this will afford you the opportunity to develop your acute care skills in a range of clinical specialties. We are looking for an individual who is hard working, confident and possess good negotiation skills, enjoys a challenge and working as part of a team.

The candidate must be able to work in a busy and fast paced environment whilst coordinating staff and patients. The candidate will be involved in the structured management of the ward and will be expected to take a team of staff nurses to complete and monitor all necessary training required by the Trust. It will be the candidate's role to maintain Trust Values and Behaviours at all times.
You must display excellent leadership and communication skills and be confident to deal with members of the public and the hospitals multidisciplinary team. It is essential that you have recent experience in an acute environment. You will also be required to support staff and take an active role in band 6 management dutiesAbout us

The successful applicant needs to have excellent organisational and time management skills with an aptitude for problem solving. You must have excellent clinical knowledge and skills. Act as the deputy to the ward sister/charge nurse regularly taking charge of the ward and ensuring that the standards and quality of care given to patients, together with the environment in which care is delivered, are maintained at a high standard.
Be an effective leader and role model and will be expected to provide regular direct clinical care and use experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non clinical governance.
Work flexibly as a member of the ward team and in support of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved
