An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled MRI Radiographer holding PgCert/ PgDip /MSc in MRI, to lead our highly motivated MRI team at the soon to be opened CDC at Southlands Hospital. The successful candidate will join a team of MRI Radiographers in a modern and progressive trust with a reputation for high clinical standards and performance. Establishing a new service with a Siemens Sola, newly installed, and a recently expanded workforce, will provide an exciting opportunity for demonstrating excellent leadership . The role will require regular rotation to Worthing Hospital and will work closely with the Lead MRI Superintendent Radiographer and MRI Superintendents at Worthing and St Richards Hospitals, and across the wider Trust.

Main duties of the job
The Trust has a position based at Southlands Hospital, rotating across to Worthing Hospital. Travel between the wider trust or other locations may be necessary in some circumstances. You will be performing a comprehensive range of examinations including neuro, cardiac, breast, abdominal, pelvic and small parts, MSK and vascular Imaging. This will be undertaken on inpatients, outpatients, paediatrics and the elderly.
We will actively encourage you to take up the opportunities within the department to enhance and develop your leadership skills and areas of interests. Attendance of external courses is encouraged and facilitated by the local learning and development unit where appropriate. Regular staff meetings allow for sharing of ideas and feedback, which is vital to maintaining a dynamic team.
Applicants should be enthusiastic and motivated with a flexible and modern approach to the delivery of imaging services. If applying from outside the UK English language qualification is essential in accordance with HCPC requirements.
As a Band 7 the post holder will be actively encouraged to contribute to the development of the service, procedures and protocols. You would also be expected to contribute to the training of Radiography students and mentoring newly appointed staff members.

Job responsibilities
The MRI Superintendent will be a clinical lead for MRI services at Southlands Hospital site within USHFT. Working cross site at Worthing regularly and across the wider Trust at St Richards Hospital occasionally, where necessary.
The post holder will work closely with MRI team and Radiology Management Team to support the delivery of MRI services across the Trust. The MRI Superintendent will liaise with the Independent Sector to ensure best use of all available resources.
The MRI Superintendent will ensure that a high quality service is provided and maintained. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the service ensure a smooth and effective service to patients. This role will include line management of staff and where necessary the post holder will liaise with the management team to address areas of concern or non-compliance.
The MRI Superintendent will offer specialist advice, assess and justify examination referrals and evaluate the clinical results of the work of themselves and junior staff in accordance with national guidelines and departmental policies. The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing vetting procedures on CRIS.
The MRI Superintendent will work as a key member of the MRI team leading site based induction, training and governance whilst ensuring that a high standard of clinical care is delivered.
MRI Superintendent will work with the Lead MRI Superintendent Radiographer and Radiology Management team to ensure all clinical performance indicators, targets and objectives relating to MRI are met in line with national and local standards.To ensure the department and staff work within the patient first framework.
Ensure site MRI staff team work within Trust operating processes, promptly reporting any issues or concerns to the Radiology Management Team to enable maximum efficiency of resource and capacity.
