Royal Papworth Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic pharmacist to join our team providing high quality pharmaceutical care to patients in our specialist cardio-respiratory centre. The pharmacy department is set at the heart of our modern, digitally enabled hospital.
As a senior rotational pharmacist, you'll work alongside pharmacist and pharmacy technician colleagues to provide a comprehensive pharmacy service to a division or department for a period of 6-12 months, before moving on to a new specialty. As well as supporting our core services, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to gain experience in sub-specialties such as cystic fibrosis, critical care, and cardiothoracic transplantation.
We are committed to our Trust's values of Compassion, Excellence and Collaboration and welcome diversity in our small and friendly department.
Main duties of the job
This role is primarily ward-based, where you will integrate into our multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with colleagues to provide excellent pharmaceutical care. You will also review and provide advice to patients in the surgical pre-admission clinic and may undertake a rotation in the Trust's digital medicines and ePrescribing team. As a member of our clinical pharmacy team, you will be required to work weekends, participate in the evening rota and provide an on call service on a rotational basis.
As a team, we're keen to promote personal development and would look to support the successful candidate with educational opportunities appropriate the individual's learning needs and aspirations. We have supported previous post-holders with post-graduate qualifications (PgD / MSc), independent prescribing qualifications, and attendance at a range of shorter courses, conferences, and workshops.
