NELFT would like to introduce the launch of the Intensive Support Team, which aims to support people with a Learning Disability and Autism who requires specialist crisis intervention. We believe that individuals who display challenging behaviours, including those with a mental health condition, should have the same opportunities to live satisfying and valued lives.
The service was developed in response to the best means of supporting our people with a learning disability and autism at a critical time in their journey, offering the least restrictive environment and ensuring that we provide the best response to those users of the service who needs specialist support, together with their carers and families.
As a Band 7 Occupational Therapist in the Intensive Support Team for individuals with learning disabilities, you will play a key role in providing specialised-based support, focusing on promoting independence, enhancing daily functioning, and facilitating individuals' engagement in meaningful activities within their familiar environment. In-reach into inpatient settings may be required at times.
