As we continue to innovate and transform our services, we are seeking a talented and dynamic Lead Software Developer to join the team and apply their technical skills and experience.
As the Lead Software Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of software applications that drive efficiency, accuracy, and excellence in patient care within the NHS. You will lead a team of skilled developers and work closely with healthcare professionals to create innovative solutions that improve the patient experience.
The team works closely with its partners in the wider Dorset Integrated Care System, and you will have the chance to interact with other development teams, work on joint initiatives, and be part of a thriving professional community.

- Development of a range of software solutions
- Support the development team in solving technical challenges
- Define robust development practices and ensure they are followed by the team
- Product backlog management, refinement, and estimation
- Provide project updates and software demonstrations
- Line management of senior developers
- Curation and maintenance of detailed technical documentation
- Responsible for the ongoing operation of systems developed by the team
- Troubleshoot issues and resolve defects
- Support the implementation and integration of commercial off-the-shelf software and systems
- Actively monitor new developments within the industry
- Create, maintain, and nurture constructive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
