- The post holder will act as the deputy to the Team Leader/Sister/Charge Nurse regularly taking charge of the clinical area and ensuring that the standards and quality of care given to patients and clients, together with the environment in which care is delivered, are maintained at an excellent standard.o The post holder will be an effective leader and role model and will be expected to provide regular direct clinical care. They will be expected to use their knowledge & experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance.o The post holder will work flexibly as a member of the care team and in support of the Team Leader/Sister/Charge Nurse to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved.
- The post holder will be an integral part member of the leadership team on Lansdowne Ward.
- The post holder will ensure the team deliver high quality, safe, evidence based care to our patients.
Main duties of the job
This is a full time permanent Band 6 Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse post on Lansdowne Ward, within the Medicine Directorate.The successful applicant will be based at St Davids Hospital in Cardiff.
An exciting opportunity has arisen on Lansdowne Ward to join a dynamic, innovative team delivering care to general medical patients in the over 65 age group requiring rehabilitation goals.
As Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse the successful applicant will be part of the continuing care and rehabilitation within our multidisciplinary team.
The ward comprises of 19 inpatient beds caring for patients with complex medical and rehabilitation needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the multi disciplinary team who work with such dedication and passion to ensure that these patients, receive the most up to date effective care possible to lead to their safe discharges into home & community settings.
