*Would you like to be part of a psychologically led, managed, and informed service working with probation staff who manage service users under probation supervision presenting with complex issues associated with attachment and trauma, and with managing relationships?

*Would you like to work as a part of a supportive multidisciplinary team where your opinion counts, and your voice is valued and heard?

*Do you want to have a part in making a real-life difference to service users who are complex and challenging, but where real life changes can be, and are, made?

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Specialist Services to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical or Forensic Psychologist into the Hampshire & IOW Multiagency Personality Service (HMAPS). We are a specialised community service jointly commissioned between NHS England (NHSE) and Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS). The service comprises of the Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway and Intensive Interventions and Risk Management (IIRMS) service lines.

The service also provides consultation to NHS teams working with individuals likely to have personality disorder / identified personality difficulties and are at high risk of harm to others/offending. Psychological case management, psychoeducational interventions and outreach is provided to a caseload of high-risk offenders.

The role is varied and includes consultation, formulation, and direct clinical intervention work across both service lines.

Main duties of the job

HMAPS is a psychologically led multidisciplinary team providing psychological formulation, consultation, and training to the National Probation Service within Hampshire, to support the probation staff with formulation-based psychological ways of working with people under probation supervision who have personality difficulties linked to their offending behaviour.

Intervention aims to expedite the care pathway of offenders in the community and prisons. The aim is to ensure that intervention and management is psychologically informed through both training and supervision. There is a strong focus on provision of training to enhance psychological understanding across the workforce.

The service is based in Ravenswood House, Fareham, but the work is delivered in a range of NHS and non-NHS (e.g., Probation offices) premises across Hampshire. There will likely be opportunity for home working via virtual means as part of the working week. There is a strong commitment to professional development and an understanding that regular clinical supervision and reflective practice is central to the role.

We are looking for either an experienced Clinical/Forensic Psychologist (Band 8a), a Band 7 with the competencies and experience to apply for 8a, or someone who is looking for a development opportunity as part of a preceptorship (Band 7 developing into Band 8a).
