Are you an experienced professional with an eye for data quality detail, are you experienced, motivated, conscientious individual, looking to further develop your operational experience? If so this is an ideal opportunity for you to come and work within the Radiology & Imaging Clinical Service Unit (CSU).The post will have a day to day operational remit with a focus on delivery of the DM01 & Cancer performance targets as well as supporting the delivery of the 18 week Trust targets for Radiology & Imaging.The Service Manager will work closely with the CSU Deputy General Manager, General Manager, Quality & Workforce Lead, Specialty leads and Clinical Director.

Main duties of the job
The post holder provides management support to the Clinical Service Unit (CSU). He/she will have responsibility for the performance of administrative and clerical staff and will ensure that services are delivered within budget to agreed quality standards and in accordance with agreed activity levels.
The post holder will work on the strategic development of the CSU alongside other staff and senior managers within the Unplanned Care group. This will include strategic and operational business planning and monitoring, and the development of relationships with key internal and external partners. The post holder will ensure that the CSU functions as an integral part of the Trust and that Division and Trust-wide objectives are achieved simultaneously.

Essential
- Experience of leading and managing a team to deliver an exceptional service within a complex environment.
- Experience of business planning, capacity planning, budget setting and management of budget expenditure including delivery of annual cost improvement savings.
- Extensive experience of staff recruitment and selection training and development managing performance and attendance management.
- Proven track record of delivering sustained service improvement across organisational boundaries using a range of service improvement and project management techniques.
- Experience of establishing methods to review and compare performance, benchmarking against best practice and for establishing work programmes to address performance issues at a service, team and individual level.
- Experience of involving service users in service planning, re-design and in responding to complaints.
- Experience of working in the NHS environment.
Desirable
- Experience of developing business cases or service development plans articulating the rationale for change and the financial, legal, political, services and risk implications.
Knowledge

- Knowledge of Patient Administration System (or equivalent system).
