We are looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic Consultant Clinical Psychologist to provide clinical leadership across our Front Door Pathway, including our Crisis and Home Resolution Team and Navigation Hub, our Access and Engagement Team and the Mental Health in Schools Team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a key member of the senior clinical leadership team within Rise Children and Young Peoples (CYP) Mental Health Services.

This role is tasked with responsibility for the delivery of high quality, safe, psychologically informed services across the Crisis and Home Treatment Team, Navigation Hub, Access and Engagement Team and the Mental Health in Schools Team. It is a delivery-focused role working closely with clinical leadership and operational management and also providing strong clinical leadership for the above services. The role will also involve working closely with Consultant Psychologists and Psychotherapists across the other RISE pathways.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Main aspects of the role include: Work with senior managers and other senior clinical leaders to:
  • Create psychologically informed pathways and evolve these based on changing evidence
  • Recommend effective team processes that relate to their specific pathways (e.g. risk assessment processes for MDT)
  • Provide psychological informed consideration in all pathway level meetings
  • Provide recommendations and oversee psychological input that would be of benefit for the effective and efficient team working process
  • Initiate and oversee quality improvements that are psychological in nature use of assessment and outcome tools and improved service user engagement
  • Lead on/oversee externally driven targets relating to psychological delivery of care
  • Work with other leaders to generate and analyse data about the service
  • Provide debrief for senior staff or whole teams in other pathways
  • Develop and provide highly specialist training sessions
  • Provide senior representation/presentation in development days or peer reviews.


Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registration with HCPC in Clinical Psychology
  • Further post doctoral qualification
  • Registration as BABCP accredited practitioner


Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of clinical leadership and service development
  • Extensive experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties and eating disorders those experiencing mental health crises
  • Extensive experience of delivering highly specialist services
  • Experience of working with a range of clients, presenting a range of clinical severity and maintenance of professionalism in challenging circumstances.
  • Experience of tailoring psychological assessment and intervention to individual needs eg age, culture, variety of settings
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for work.
  • Extensive experience of teaching, training, and supervising of a range of staff including doctoral level trainees.
  • Research and audit experience


Knowledge

Essential

  • Proven supervision and management skills
  • Post-doctoral training relevant to the post
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of highly specialist assessment methods and therapeutic approaches in relation to the client group including DBT and Psychological Assessments and Interventions relating to offending.
  • Extensive experience of team working.
  • Experience in providing consultancy to colleagues.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
