Clinical Scientist or Healthcare Scientist (Audiologist)

As part of our service expansion, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a full-time Audiology Healthcare Scientist (Audiologist) / Clinical Scientist to join our team at the Centre for Hearing and Balance Disorders. The role is paediatric focused within a service that offers adult and paediatric audiology care. Where possible, we will enable you to practice any aspect of audiology that you have a particular interest in and we are happy to support applications for STP equivalence.
This role has significant quality assurance, supervision and service development aspects with options to include a research portfolio and as such is a fantastic opportunity to develop your broader leadership skills and interests.

Main duties of the job
The role will consist of neonate and paediatric hearing assessment and habilitation for both routine and complex caseloads. It will offer multidisciplinary working with a range of professionals including Education teams, Speech & Language Therapists and medical consultants.
The post-holder will have specialist knowledge of a wide range of procedures and practices which is underpinned by practical experience and knowledge maintained through professional registration and CPD activity.
The role may include line management responsibilities and there are many opportunities to develop and lead research and innovative projects within the team. As senior clinician, we will support your leadership development through training and development opportunities.
You must have NHS experience and Masters level qualification (or equivalent) in Audiology and HCPC or RCCP registration to apply for this role.

- Team leader/line management responsibility for audiologists working within the team.
- Performance monitoring of specialist service within your responsibility to national standards
- Contribute to ensuring quality standards are met within your area with particular focus on:
- Ensuring patient information is delivered at agreed junctures in patient pathway
- Ensuring patient's privacy, respect, comfort and security throughout the patient pathway.
- Ensuring informed consent is obtained in line with service standards
- Delivering patient-focused care in line with department policy.
- Ensuring systems that are in place for obtaining and managing feedback from patients, carers and relatives are promoted and utilised.
- Ensuring the ordering and management of all consumables supports the various pathways.
- Ensuring professional procedures are adhered to through audit of your service area.
- Ensuring competence of staff working within your area of responsibility through appraisal, peer review, case study reviews and undertaking personal development reviews.
