The AHP Faculty will be running a number of projects that aim to maximise the AHP workforce. The post holder will lead on one of the following system-wide project areas:

Improving the quality of Practice Education

AHP Preceptorship

AHP Support Worker Development

AHP Workforce Supply Optimisation

The Derbyshire AHP Faculty has been established since February 2021 and is a collaboration of Health and Social Care, Education and NHS England. It has a focus on transforming the Derbyshire AHP Workforce to ensure the delivery of quality services, and improving the health and wellbeing of the Derbyshire population. The AHP faculty works across the Derbyshire ICS, linking closely with Derbyshire AHP Council and NHSE, to deliver the AHP workforce of the future.

If you have good organisational skills, excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills, can use databases, can work to deadlines and enjoy new challenges then this opportunity is for you. An understanding of the AHP workforce outside of one's own profession and the AHP Faculties as well as an appreciation of the broader healthcare system will be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

The role will require disciplined timetabling of work as well as strong communication skills to engage with a range of stakeholders. Tasks will include gathering information from a range of resources which may include workforce data, focus groups, interviews and surveys to inform project direction and evaluate outcomes.

This post offers an opportunity to work in a system-wide position which will expand level of experience and understanding the wider ICS. The post holder will be able to develop leadership, project management and communication skills.

The post holder must be able to plan and organise own workload with minimal supervision and to keep project on track and meet tight deadlines. This post provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills in leadership and project work and support the development of the future AHP workforce.

There will be opportunities for collaborative working to deliver on exciting new workforce development and supply initiatives within Derbyshire, as well as networking with colleagues from wider regions, NHS England and professional bodies.
