An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time dietitian to support the Paediatric Oncology and Home Enteral feeding team at Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) as a secondment for 1 year.

Are you a Paediatric or home enteral feeding dietitian keen to expand your clinical experience in paediatric Oncology and enteral feeding ? Do you have a passion for improving patient outcomes with the best nutritional care? We are looking for a forward thinking and enthusiastic Dietitian to join our team. You will become an integral member of our supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high quality, patient centred dietetic care. The job will be a mix of in-patient and outpatients.

The post holder will be working alongside 2 experienced band 7 dietitians who will be able to offer support and training .

Part time may be considered.

The post holder will provide dietetic support within team of two Dietitians, six Consultants and 5 Specialist nurses. Providing therapeutic dietary advice to infants, children and young people within the oncology and haematology service.

The successful candidate will support nutritional interventions including oral nutrition and enteral feeding so some experience in these would be beneficial. The post will support patients being discharged on enteral feeds and supporting their dietetic care at home . They will also need to work closely with the broader MDT to optimise patient care with the aim of minimising admissions where possible.

The post holder will also support audit and service evaluation to demonstrate the benefits of dietetic input within these patient pathways.

The post holder would be supported by a Team Leader and Clinical Leads to deliver a consistent high quality dietetic service at NCH.

About us

The Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) is based at the Queens Medical Centre campus and is part of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). We provide In-patient and out-patient care for children up to the age of 19 years old. We are a regional oncology service and would support these out of area patients for dietary reviews and for their home enteral feeding requirements.

The Children's Therapy team at NCH is a friendly and supportive department of around 30 dietitians, support workers and administrative staff who work closely alongside the wider MDT, providing excellent evidence based care and innovative ways of working.

Throughout NUH we have a diverse range of AHP and support staff who work together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to supported by our Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction.

Job responsibilities

You must have experience of working as a Dietitian. You will need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload and that of other members of staff within a supportive team. You will work alongside dietitians as well as dietetic technicians and dietetic assistants. We expect you to beenthusiastic, motivated and keen to develop your own skills and those of others. Experience of nutritional support is essential. Additional training will be provided.
