Team Derbyshire Healthcare are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to be our Clinical Educator for Inpatient services.

Main duties of the job

Develop, implement and evaluate a wide range of development packages of clinical, educational and professional support for clinical staff in In-Patient areas for a variety of role

Ensure good visibility within the clinical environment and offer frequent supervision to clinical staff.

Provide strong clinical leadership, energising, inspiring and empowering staff to provide high quality clinical care.

Promote an ethos of team and joint working, collaboration, and mutual respect amongst all members of staff

Qualifications / Attainment

Essential

  • RMN/RNLD or AHP registered with the HCPC
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience
  • Evidence of continuous professional and management development
  • Recognised Teaching & Assessing Qualification


Desirable

  • Leadership and management qualification
  • Master's Qualification
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education


Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • A good knowledge of In-patient mental health services
  • Highly developed leadership skills with the ability to present and receive highly complex information which can be sensitive.
  • Extensive knowledge of service issues and priorities facing Mental Health care
  • Ability to work flexibly in the clinical environment to support staff development and service need when required.
  • Evidence of teaching in a variety of settings using a range of different education and learning strategies where there may be barriers to understanding.
  • Evidence of commitment to educational initiatives to ensure the delivery of evidence based clinical practice and high-quality care
  • Ability to motivate and support others.
  • Experience of mentoring/coaching junior staff
  • Knowledge of national and local mental health drivers and standards.
  • Production of high quality reports.
