An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the well established team on Rowan 2 as a Staff Nurse.We are looking for registered Mental Health Nurses who are driven to provide high quality care to female patients, aged 18-65 in an acute inpatient setting.

We are looking for nurses who are approachable, compassionate and motivated with good communication skills and who excel at being part of a team.

The role will include working alongside an experienced nursing, medical, psychology and allied health professional team to provide enhanced level of patient centred care aimed to support our patients within their recovery.

You will become part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team with focus on assessment of need, treatment and recovery, while placing the service user and their families at the centre of care planning.

This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of �2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a mental health nurse who has a passion and commitment to caring for woman and their families living with mental health disorders. We want nurses who put the 6Cs into practice on a daily basis and have a supportive and considerate nature, to work within a cohesive inter-professional ward team.

You will need to be available to work a flexible 24 hour working pattern on a rotating basis to include nights and weekends.

Job responsibilities

To provide a defined level of assessment and access to interventions for a diverse patient group and their families under the care programme approach, who present with significant mental healthproblems/disorders.

To provide a realistic timely and occasionally intensive support to patients within an Inpatientsetting.

To provide education and supervision to junior staff members, peers and other professionals

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional Qualification (Mental Health/Learning Disabilities/General).
  • Maintains current registration with the NMC or due to receive soon


Desirable

  • Demonstrate continued professional development to maintain professional registration


Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments
  • Knowledge of the nursing 6 c's


Desirable

  • Awareness of national and local issues impacting of nursing care


Skills

Essential

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Diplomatic, caring & sympathetic
  • Ability to be flexible and handle conflict issues
  • Good skills in assessment intervention and evaluation of patients nursing care
  • Good written/oral communication skills
