An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with vascular access experience to join our CUH Vascular Access Unit. You will already be experienced in inserting PICC lines as a minimum and will have a proven background in providing leadership with assessment, development and implementation of specialized nursing duties within the specialty.

Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be a recognized expert in the specialty, responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care within vascular access.
- As an autonomous practitioner, the post holder will be able to independently insert PICC lines, whilst working towards more complex line insertions.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support and liaise with other staff. This includes the provision of specialist education and training for other staff and students.
- They will be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence based care.
- The Band 7 role frequently requires the candidate to undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area.
- They will act as Deputy for the Lead CNS, supporting in operationalizing the strategic direction of the service.
- The post holder will frequently lead the shift, triaging referrals , leading and managing the team.
