An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic, conscientious and motivated Cardiac Physiologist to lead the clinical management and strategic development of the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Service at SFT.

The CRM Service at SFT is expanding and developing. We have started our Conduction System Pacing programme and are expanding our remote monitoring service with a view to extending this to all our patients over the coming years. There are still lots of opportunities to make changes and lead service development in a very supportive environment.

In the Cardiac Investigations Unit we have an excellent track record of supporting continuing professional development (including professional exams) and further academic study. We also seek to have representation at national and regional meetings.

CIU relocated to a larger, refurbished department in March 2023 which has afforded us with new clinic rooms, admin spaces and staff areas. There is also the Cardiac Suite which is home to our two state-of-the-art cath labs where we implant devices and offer a full PCI service.

Applicants must have accreditation in CRM Devices and be able to demonstrate leadership development. We would advise making contact with us for an informal chat, at which time we can arrange a visit.

Main duties of the job

In this role you would be expected to lead the CRM service both clinically and from a service provision/development perspective. You would lead for CRM procurement and in the management of CRM risk. You would also be actively involved in the day-to-day clinical aspects of device implants and follow-up. Experience of CRM is essential, as is the ability to demonstrate leadership development.

You would be leading a team of CRM Cardiac Physiologists who range from newly qualified CRM trainees through to those who are experienced and accredited. There would be an expectation for you to deliver training and offer mentorship, support and elements of line management. Beyond CRM, you would support and deputise for the Head of CIU.

At SFT we perform coronary angiography and intervention, providing a Primary PCI service during normal hours. You would be required to work independently in this area and participate in our on-call service which incorporates pacemaker implant.

You would be expected to manage your own learning including keeping up to date with emerging evidence and current guidance, but you would be supported in doing so. In CIU we have an excellent track record in encouraging and supporting attendance at relevant courses and conferences.

If you think you have the right attributes to fulfil this senior CRM role, we would like to hear from you!
