Due to promotion, we are looking for a Physiotherapist with an interest in Acute Stroke, to support the MDT in the assessment and management of our patients.
The MDT includes Occupational Therapists, Neuro-Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dietitians, Nurses and Medics (to name a few!)
The team has comprehensive training and as a wider Trust, we are keen to develop clinical, leadership and professional skills.
The Stroke Therapy Team works across a 7-day rota.
We will consider Band 5-6 development post if appropriate, therefore if you are interested in developing your skills within Stroke, please do apply.

Job responsibilities
1. Manage a caseload of patients with varying diagnosis and or /complex needs, using evidence based/ client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a defined clinical area.
2. Ensure development of junior staff through supervision, training and annual appraisal.
3. Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of clinical practice & service development within area.
4. Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust Physiotherapy service.
5. Take a lead for information management to ensure high quality data which is recorded, evaluated & reported in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

- Current or recent substantial experience of working with stroke patients
- Specialist knowledge of physiotherapy within an acute setting
- Experience of doing appraisals and supervision
- Effective communication - in person, written and over the telephone
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Organising an allocated workload, planning and prioritising work to achieve objective and meet deadlines
- Providing instructions to patients and their carers to enable them to achieve maximum functional independence
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Providing respiratory support on the ward and on the on-call rota
