An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Bradford Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service for a full- time band 7 Speech and Language Therapist in the Inpatient Mental Health Team. This post is for 37.5 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists already working elsewhere in our Adult Community and Mental Health Team. The post holder will benefit from:
The post will also be supported by the Principal Speech and Language Therapist and the AHP lead.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work across inpatient services in Bradford and Keighley to provide speech, language, communication and eating and drinking assessment and intervention to adults with mental ill health. They will also be an integral part of the senior leadership group within our services and will be required to attend meetings contributing to service and policy development
The post holder will have a high degree of autonomy, providing high quality clinical care to people that use our services, as well as having a key role in supporting the development of skills across the inpatient wards. This post will also include leadership responsibilities such as line management, supervision and service development opportunities.
The post holder will be passionate about the rights and welfare of people with mental health needs and see person-centred care as a cornerstone of their practice.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to articulate the value of Speech and Language Therapy for Mental health services.
