Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts have a shared instance of Cerner Millennium Electronic Patient Record (EPR). Following a very successful go-live across both Trusts in 2017, EPR has transformed the way in which we work using technology to improve quality and patient safety, which will in turn help to provide the future of 'excellence in patient care' at both Trusts.
In order to continue with this vital work, there is now an exciting opportunity to join the Joint EPR team to provide support and to deliver solutions across both organisations, which covers almost 10,000 members of staff, with their use of EPR. We are looking to recruit a Clinical Analyst on a permanent basis. Working across both organisations you will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with teams to understand their requirements.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the clinical configuration of the EPR solution (Clinical Documentation, A& E, Order Comms and Paediatrics workstreams) assisting the creation of design, testing, delivery and adoption within the both trusts. The post holder will provide solution expertise and maintenance for the clinical solutions.
The EPR Clinical Analyst roles are part of the core clinical configuration team for the EPR and are some of the most pivotal in the ongoing development and maintenance of the Electronic Patient Record Programme. The post holder will have a balance of clinical and informatics skills and knowledge and act as the interface between the clinical and the technical. Clinical registration would be advantageous but demonstration of equivalent experience and awareness of the patient journey will be considered.
Responsible for working with clinical and supplier staff to undertake analysis of the current state including current state mapping, collation of policies, time in motion analysis.

To actively seek out new ideas and challenge the boundaries of the EPR functionality through broad scanning and networking.
Influence and motivate staff to assist with the implementation and adoption of new ways of working.To communicate in complicated and difficult situations and to explain EPR issues to non-Informatics staff/suppliers.
To establish working relationships with the key clinicians and support staff representing the clinical areas engaged in EPR use.
To establish working relationships with EPR Subject Matter Experts ensuring frequent dialogue in relation to EPR deisgn, configuration and process change.
To advise clinical and user groups on issues and deployment of advanced EPR design. Analyse, investigate and resolve complex queries where there are a number of options. Participate in the planning, running and summation of system testing.Participate in the planning and delivery of workshops, demonstrations, configuration sessions and training as part of the delivery of EPR.
Plan and prioritise own workload.
Ensures that the design and configuration of the EPR functionality is compliant with Royal College guidance, NICE and other clinical guidance and protocols as directed by clinical stakeholders and EPR Clinical Leads.
Ensures that the design and configuration of the EPR functionality is compliant with trusts policy and sign off processes and where policy or procedure is to be change to reflect a new electronic way of working support and advise on the development of the new policy/procedure.
Work as a full member of the EPR multidisciplinary team in the planning, delivery and management of the EPR system. This includes attendance at team meetings.
Plan and organise meetings of relevant clinicians to discuss/demonstrate EPR functionality.
Provide expert advice to senior managers, clinicians and external resources in the use of the EPR systems.
Delivers specialist training/advice on the EPR system to other staff and external organisations.
Able to identify key staff groups or individual members of staff who may need to be involved in workstream activities as either ,process-owners, process-information resource or application experts/super-users or any other roles necessary in the project
Develop knowledge over time in clinical areas where knowledge and experience does not already exist.
To ensure that all assigned system and software developments follow the development methodology.
Work with the testing/workstream leads to develop test scripts and participate in testing as required for your relevant workstream.
Facilitate end to end and user acceptance testing.
Participate in standard operating procedure (SOP) creation, review and testing for EPR workflows and functionality.To assess, identify and evaluate own practice needs, maintain and develop skills and knowledge through continuing professional development. Maintains professional registration if already obtained.
