Are you looking to get more experience as a Paediatric Dietitian and want to join a dynamic forward thinking team within a tertiary children's hospital?
We are a large friendly department of Dietitians, supported by Dietetic Support Workers, Special Feed Unit staff and administration staff. You will have a fantastic opportunity to gain a broad experience in paediatric dietetics.
If you are looking for a part-time post rather than full-time, there may be scope to provide this. Please get in touch to discuss.
Interviews will be held virtually, however please do contact us if you would like to arrange an informal visit to the hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post will be within one or two areas within our Band 6 rotational areas. These include: Eating disorders, BMT and oncology, general medicine, renal, cardiology, surgery, burns, PICU, neonatology, obesity, diabetes, neurology and ketogenic. We also have a rapidly growing outpatient service which includes: feeding problems, faltering growth, allergy, eating disorders and complex needs. The successful candidate will work within one of our four clinical teams for the 12 month period. However, there will be the opportunity for experience within other teams, if desired. Our other specialties include: gastroenterology, cystic fibrosis, inherited metabolic diseases and Barth's syndrome.
Our department is committed to student training, quality improvement, research and audit. We pride ourselves on our commitment to continuing professional development. All Band 5/6 staff are led and supervised by a Band 7 or 8 Advanced Specialist Dietitian.
You ideally should have at some paediatric experience or have a good grounding in dietetics if you are applying at band 6 level. We will also consider experienced adult Dietitians who have a passion to learn paediatrics within a tertiary unit at band 6 level. You must be enthusiastic and flexible. Additionally, you must be a good communicator and team worker who can self-direct your learning quickly. You should be computer literate.
