Birmingham Community Nutrition are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for an experienced dietitian to lead the specialist area of community gastroenterology on a fixed term contract.
This well-established service provides dietetic support to clients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Coeliac Disease and other gastroenterology conditions across Birmingham in clinics, remotely and where appropriate, the patients' own homes.
The role is within our Primary Care Team and the caseload will also include the management of other chronic diseases in primary care. The successful candidate will ideally have post-graduate training in gastroenterology and relevant experience of working in gastroenterology, including use of the low FODMAP diet approach.
We use a patient centered approach to dietary management, including cognitive behavioural therapy techniques, and we are keen to trial new and innovative ways of working. You will also participate in student training (A, B & C placements) and audit / research. Career development, flexible working and staff support are given high priority in the department. We support regular clinical supervision and peer review.

To adhere to the standards of conduct, performance and ethics and the dietitians' standards of proficiency of the Health and Care Professions Council.
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients within your care.
To be aware of your level of responsibility and accountability within the service, being guided by policies, procedures, and the support of peers.
To be responsible for maintaining and demonstrating own competence to practice through participation in appraisal process and CPD within the framework of the professional portfolio. This will include membership of a relevant national and / or BDA specialist group, and any other relevant organisations.
