Main duties of the job

As a registered Nurse or Paramedic we will train you to use advanced telephone triage skills to make clinical decisions and provide patients with appropriate care pathways which may not be transport to a hospital emergency department. NWAS is passionate about providing the best for its staff through a clear and supportive career framework and there will be on-going professional support and opportunities for successful applicants.

This role will allow the post holder to contribute to the development of the wider Urgent Care agenda within the Trust by supporting the development of Urgent Care Services, care pathways and clinical triage systems.

The post holder will also be involved in the delivery of clinical supervision and mentorship to peers.

*Please note that training and mentoring may need to take place at one of our main sites, which are Broughton, Parkway and Estuary Point*

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
