This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, self-motivated and enthusiastic person with a 'can do' attitude to join our new International Nurse Recruitment Team. As Pastoral & Cultural Support Nurse you will play a key role in enhancing the experience of international recruits joining the Trust, ensuring they receive a smooth transition into the UK and the NHS, supporting their integration into their ward / department.

You will work closely with the Nurses and their Managers to support all aspects of the onboarding process ensuring that the pastoral care our internationally recruited nurses need is in place. You will help with their arrival, welcome and accommodation arrangements. You will be on hand to offer practical support, advice and guidance to newly arrived international nurses.

As well as fulfilling a crucial pastoral support role, you will be responsible for ensuring their integration into practice on completing their OSCE.

You must have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage competing demands and deadlines, great organisational skills and a desire to provide brilliant customer service. You must be adept at problem solving and able to deal with challenges positively and calmly.

Main duties of the job

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. Please confirm in your application that you meet the specified criteria.

The role will work within the International Recruitment team, clinical teams, and with key stake holders to facilitate a smooth transition into clinical practice and develop ongoing support throughout the preceptorship journey for new internationally recruited nurses.

Reporting to the International Recruitment Clinical Lead, you'll be contributing to the development of workforce integration to the UK and Trust. You will be committed to influencing the wellbeing and development of a culturally diverse workforce with an active and visible point of contact for international recruits to seek pastoral support throughout their first year of employment.

This role is integral to effective onboarding and pastoral integration to the UK and Trust to enhance the experiences of our international new starters and promote establishing long term members of our workforce.
