We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and clinically capable Band 5 Trained Nurses to join our nursing team on Heligan Ward one of our 22 bedded Wards at St Austell Community Hospital. The Trained Nurse role requires the post holder to be committed to the ongoing development of the ward and multi-disciplinary team working. We aim to deliver the highest standard of patient and rehabilitative care to our predominantly elderly patients.

The ideal applicant will possess a good level of organisational, communication and clinical skills relevant to the post and be able to act as a positive role model.

You will be undertaking a range of early, late night and long day duties on a rotational basis in order to support 24 hour nursing care, 7 days per week.

There are full and part time hours available.

Main duties of the job

The assessment of care needs and the development and implementation of programmes of care in the ward setting.

To be a team leader and provide all forms of nursing care without direct supervision.

To provide mentorship to pre and post registration students and Healthcare Assistants undertaking the National Vocational Awards.
