Plymouth has one of the highest incidences of skin cancer in the United Kingdom and the diagnosis and management of skin cancer makes up a significant part of the workload of the dermatology department. We are supported by a large plastic surgery department but believe that dermatology should be at the forefront of skin cancer therapy, both non-surgical and surgical including Moh's micrographic surgery. There is considerable potential for expanding the dermatology service to deal with demand.

The post is for a Doctor who is interested in pursuing the Cesr route with the support of the department. He /She will be responsible for the delivery and development of high quality Dermatology care under the supervision of the lead consultant. The post holder will also be expected to participate in the normal duties relating to the administration of the Dermatology Department. These duties will include teaching, continuing medical education and audit/clinical governance.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will participate in adult and paediatric dermatology outpatient clinics and minor surgical procedures. There will also be an opportunity to be involved in joint clinics with rheumatology and GU medicine and inpatient dermatological ward rounds. The department actively encourages audit and research.
