An opportunity has arisen to join our Respiratory Physiology department. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic respiratory physiologist to join our busy, and evolving service.
Our trust currently has two band 7 physiologists based at Eastbourne District General and Conquest Hospital respectively. We also have a team of ARTP trained HCA's that perform basic respiratory tests in the outpatient clinics, and we are working towards developing a band 4 junior physiologist in our team.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to excel professionally and is committed to providing a high-quality service. You must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
This exciting new post will be based predominantly in our new Bexhill community diagnostics hub, although there will also be the opportunity for regular cross-site working. The successful candidate will be required to work autonomously and be responsible for the day-to-day running of a lung function laboratory.
Main duties of the job
As well as performing a range of routine and more complex pulmonary function investigations, there will be frequent opportunity for involvement sleep services, inpatient diagnostics, and wider respiratory care alongside our community respiratory nurses. The successful candidate will also be expected to play an active role in the education and training of junior staff as well as other healthcare professionals including physiotherapists, nursing staff, medical students, and junior doctors. Candidates must have a Clinical Physiology BSc or equivalent. ARTP Part 1 and 2 are desirable. The appointee should be RCCP registered or working towards RCCP registration.

In 2020 the Care Quality Commission rated us as 'Good' overall, and 'Outstanding' for being caring and effective. The Conquest Hospital and our Community Services are rated 'Outstanding'. Eastbourne DGH rated 'Good'.
In 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious 'Building for our Future' programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to repair, redevelop and expand our hospitals, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.
