The post holder assists in the assessment of care needs, helping to develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
The focus of the Radiology Nurse is to oversee and assist any patient undergoing a procedure in the Radiology Department (Excludes Vascular Procedures).
They provide an integral link with the patient's journey and experience which can take them from the nurse led positive assessment throughto procedure, post procedure as Nurse led discharge .
They are also required to mentor, train and supervise Band 5 Nurse and Health Care assistants as well as any student Nurses / Radiographers
Main duties of the job
To comply at all times with any regulations issued by the Trust, especially those governing Health and Safety at work and to ensure that any defects which may affect safety at work are brought to the attention of the appropriate manager.
It is the responsibility of all staff to minimise the Trust's environmental impact by recycling wherever possible, switching off lights, computers, monitors and equipment when not in use, minimising water usage and reporting faults promptly.

To accurately input details on to the Radiology management system to update patient details, record information post procedure and scan all documents on system.
Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of stocks and materials within the clinical areas, ensuring that adequate stock levels maintained, to include drugs
Ensure that infection control policy followed
Inform Nurse in Charge / Imaging Operations Manager of any matters affecting professional standards of patient care
Assist in the checking and administration of Controlled and other Drugs within the clinical environment
Responsibility for health promotion within the department and student placement
