We have been on a rapid improvement journey, built on patient centred care, high levels of staff engagement and partnership working with health and social care colleagues. Our One Herefordshire Partnership approach is being seen as an exemplar and we are working with partners to make functional integration a reality. We have solid foundations on which to build the next phase of improvement to be a national leader in the delivery of truly integrated care and sustainable service delivery.

As a key member of the executive team you will have responsibility for the provision of expert strategic clinical advice to the Trust Board contributing to a culture that is improvement focused for patient and staff experience. You will take personal accountability for excellence in patient care and ensuring quality and safety are at the heart of everything we do. High levels of engagement with the medical workforce will need to underpin innovation and clinical productivity. You will also take the lead in developing our academic programme, driving research, education and clinical effectiveness.

If you are interested in this exciting opportunity then we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

The trust has been successful in securing investment and we have three new state of the art wards on the Hereford County Hospital site dedicated to the care of frail patients, building has started on the new elective surgical hub and we are finalising the business case for a new community diagnostic centre. We are also well on the way to introducing an extensive digital programme including EPR, electronic prescribing, shared care record across all partners and E-Rostering.

You will be an experienced medical leader, ready to bring your passion and energy to our well established executive team.

You will have experience of working across systems and leading change and be able to demonstrate your ability to take teams with you through challenging circumstances. But most importantly you will bring your confidence, integrity and strategic thinking, role modelling the behaviours we want to see replicated across the organisation.
