Job summary
Applications are invited for an International Training Fellow in Anaesthetics for a maximum of 2 years at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The post is specifically designed for International Medical Graduates employed through the United Kingdom Government's Medical Training Initiative Scheme and has been created with an emphasis very much on medical training and education that will allow the successful applicants to receive a balanced mixture of training and service that will mirror those of the anaesthetic department's existing doctors in training.
You will be offered on a fixed term basis for 2 years. During this period, there will be an excellent opportunity for the post holder to obtain training in Anaesthesia under the UK National Health Service. The training offered will be tailored according to the needs and experience of the post holder.
Broadly, the training scheme will follow the educational curriculum recommended by the Royal College of Anaesthetists during the years 1 and 2 of basic specialist training in Anaesthesia. The post holder will gain modular training and experience in:
Main duties of the job
After a successful phased induction into clinical work, the International Fellow will have regular training sessions across a broad spectrum of specialities in line with their individual training plan.
There will be modular placements which will be discussed in the beginning of the training and implemented throughout with training period with regular review.
You will participate on a 1:7 on call rota (12-hour full shift) for obstetrics and Anaesthesia at Basildon hospital for which a pay banding supplement of 1A will be paid.
The post is offered based on 48 hours of work per week on an average and complies with the EWTD regulations.
