An new opportunity has arisen to lead the Pulmonary Function Team at Southampton General Hospital. The post is offered on a full time permanent basis with University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).
As a service we provide a wide range of respiratory diagnostic tests in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Our Respiratory Physiology Service is currently expanding, and we are looking for a Lead Respiratory Physiologist to join the team.

Your Responsibilities What youll do
Applicants will hold a Bachelor in Respiratory Physiology or other relevant Life Sciences Degree with previous relevant experience in working as a respiratory physiologist. You will have a special interest in Respiratory Medicine/Lung Function Testing as well as Cardiopulmonary Exercise testing. You need to have successfully completed ARTP accreditation , be on appropriate professional register (RCCP or equivalent) and have evidence of continued professional development.
What were looking for
The successful applicant will have the ability to work flexibly, be proactive and enjoy working as part of a team. You will also work collaboratively and co-operatively with other colleagues on a day-to-day basis, to meet patient and service needs. A keen eye for detail and accuracy is essential.

- Degree in Clinical Physiology or equivalent significant professional experience within respiratory physiology field
- ARTP Part 1 and 2 or ARTP Professional Examination
- RCCP, AHCS or HCPC Registered
- Evidence of continued professional development

- PgDip/MSc in relevant subject or equivalent specialist experience and knowledge
- Teaching and Training Qualifications or equivalent experience

- Extensive experience in performing, interpreting and reporting of complex and highly complex pulmonary function tests, autonomously and independently
