The Community Infection Prevention and Control Team are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join them on a secondment/fixed term basis to support care homes, extra care, supported living and non-CQC registered adult social care services such as day centres.

If you have experience working within the community as an IPC link professional this would be perfect opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills within an established team.

Full driving licence essential to role and we would recommend an informal visit to meet the team.

Main duties of the job

The role will focus on improving infection prevention and control standards by primarily undertaking audits, data collection and supporting with guidance and providing bespoke training packages.

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Essential

  • Current NMC registration


Desirable

  • Experience of working in the speciality of infection prevention & control.


Communication

Essential

  • Communicates complex and sensitive information to patients, staff and the public.


Analytical Skills

Essential

  • Ability to identify problems, analyse, compare and interpret appropriate information before reaching a judgement and making a decision.


Desirable

  • Has an understanding of clinical governance
  • Required to undertake frequent infection prevention & control related audits throughout the organisation in line with the Infection Control Programme.


Planning and Organisation

Essential

  • Manages own clinical workload within the specialist skills area, prioritising as necessary to comply with the infection prevention & control programme.


Training

Essential

  • Delivers infection prevention & control training to multidisciplinary groups across the whole Trust.


Desirable

  • Experience of developing training packages
  • Teaching Qualification. Infection Control qualification.


Leadership

  • Displays effective leadership whilst assisting clinical staff with the assessment, mentoring and supporting staff.


Information Technology

  • IT skills to enable inputting of data.
