Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Teaching fellow to support the
Aston University undergraduate medical students placed with Birmingham
Community Healthcare NHS Trust, for a fixed term of twelve months.
Main duties of the job
Please see the job description for all details about the post. Please note an essential requirement is at least 6 months experience working in an NHS job.
Duties will involve teaching medical students, as well as some ward duties in geriatrics. There is no commitment to an out of hours rota but locum shifts are available for out of hours work. The successful applicants will be encouraged to apply and complete a PG Certificate in Medical Education ( funded as part of post)

The team is a small friendly group of Consultants and staff grades in geriatrics
and rehabilitation medicine. BCHC has community in-patient beds at both
Moseley Hall and West Heath Hospital, as well as out patient services.

- Registered Medical Practitoner with MBBS or equivalent
- Completion of Foundation years training, i.e. 2 years training ( or similar) at start of post
- Ideally 12 months but minimum 6 months working in an NHS job ( not as observer or on elective)
Desirable
- Evidence of experience of teaching medical students
- Evidence of good academic record.
- Competant in history taking and examination skills.
