Job summary
The post-holder will work with a specified case load of children, young people and their families with minimal supervision once appropriate training and assessment of competence has been undertaken.
The role will continue to develop and the post holder will initiate, implement and evaluate services within the specialist area. They will facilitate the provision of a seamless service and promote quality care to patients.
This will be achieved through clinical practice, management, education, research and audit and professional activities with a multi professional approach
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the lead consultant and within the MDT for a specified case load of children, young people and their families, with support, if needed, from the Haemoglobinopathies nurses covering the other Barts health sites.
Your day will involve caring for inpatient, daycare and outpatient children in the children and young people's centre. A main role will be networking with the wider MDT including professionals at the Primary Treatment Centres. The role provides the opportunity to build a rapport and close working relationship with the patients and their families to provide holistic, family centered care, offering support and guidance and treatments as required.
There are opportunities for further professional development and Barts Health supports the revalidation requirements of the entire nursing and midwifery workforce.
