Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join Sheffield Teaching Hospitals as part of the Speech & Language Therapy Team in hyper acute stroke units.
The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and progressive team that values research and service improvement to work with patients from across the region.
The successful post holder will provide clinical Speech & Language Therapy as part of the SLT stroke team. However, other opportunities in the stroke pathway will be available over time.
The SLT service across both the acute and community teams in STH has approximately 55 staff (47 therapists, 7 assistants and 4 secretarial staff) (41.23wte).
The SLT teams are highly motivated to provide a quality service to their patients, they are research active and embrace innovation. The service has established processes for supervision and supports personal and professional development.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical speech and language therapy services to a defined specialized caseload of adult patients as part of the Stroke pathway team.
To specialise in the assessment and management of communication disorders and dysphagia related to stroke.
To provide a Speech & Language Therapy Service to adults with swallowing, voice and communication disorders.
