Job summary
Are you an experienced Band 6, looking for an exciting new opportunity to gain management experience and do you want to be part of a Rehab Inpatient Team and help shape the future of the musculoskeletal rehabilitation?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manger/Senior Sister to join the team on our 15 bedded ward at Swanage Hospital.
The successful candidate will be a skilledand experienced MSK Rehab nurse with 2 years' experience at Band 6 Junior SR/CN or already in a Band 7 role. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, demonstrates leadership qualities, able to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
You will be a role model for staff and ensure all grades are supported in their work. You will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and have high clinical standards and the ability to lead a team. You must be able to set clear direction and be collaborative in your approach.
Working in line with the Trust Values and People Strategy is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have 24-hour responsibility for the effective and efficient operational day-to-day management of the department/ward, including budget control, clinical governance staff development and training. The post holder is professionally accountable for the maintenance of standards of professional practise and standards of care. They will provide professional clinical leadership within a defined area and provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members within the multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will undertake and supervise clinical practice, audit, research, and teaching to set, monitor and continuously improve standards of care and patient experience.
The post holder is accountable for safe, effective clinical practice managing and developing team performance, managing a devolved budget ensuring efficient and effective use of physical and human resources.
