Job summary
This post is based at The Manor Hospital Walsall, hosted by UHNM.
The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) and Walsall NHS Trust (WHT) North Midlands & Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) is responsible for the Strategic and Operational Procurement for UHNM (Royal Stoke University and County Hospitals), RWT (New Cross and Cannock Hospitals), WHT (Walsall Manor Hospital) and 36 partner NHS organisations within the Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Lancashire Health Economies.
The UHNM - NMBC is responsible for the management and control of expenditure in excess of �600 million across both the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent and Black Country health economies.
Main duties of the job
The Strategic Procurement Manager will be a vital member of the NMBC Senior Management team, managing a team of staff responsible for the procurement of all Medical and Non - Medical Contracts for the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust reporting in to the Head of Procurement.
This post will be integral in supporting the Department in the delivery of all strategic objectives of all Trusts represented. Support the Departments national / regional obligations and the implementation of the local Procurement strategy to meet the needs of the host Trust's, customer base requirements, maximize value for money, minimising operational / commercial risk whilst ensuring compliance with EU Procurement Legislation, UK Law and the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions.
