Job summary
The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team setting to deliver a specialised dietetic service to The Cove. The MDT includes clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health nurses and healthcare assistants, occupational therapists, social worker, education staff, family therapists, admin, facilities and catering staff.
This is an outstanding opportunity for career development, in an emerging area of highly specialised clinical practice. Regular line management and clinical supervision will be offered, and we will actively look at developing the successful applicant in this exciting role.
Main duties of the job
The Cove is a 14 bedded specialist inpatient unit for young people between the ages of 13 and 18 who are experiencing a variety of mental health problems. These problems are usually complex and the young people who access The Cove are usually very distressed.
The post holder will provide a high quality, evidence based up to date nutrition and dietetic service to the inpatient unit with the focus on providing dietetic support to the young people with eating difficulties; however there is also an opportunity to develop the dietetic service provision to support other young people with weight management, nutritional support and re-feeding syndrome.

- Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration as a Dietitian
- Master's Degree in relevant subject or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Compliance with regulatory bodies and codes of professional conduct

- High level knowledge in area of clinical speciality including current evidence-based practice for dietetic management
- Highly competent to assess patients' requirements to develop nutritional care plans.
