Main duties of the job

To provide direct patient care to babies on the neonatal unit.

To work with parents and cares, involving them in the care of their babies and keeping them fully informed and updated.

To work within the policies and guidelines of the neonatal unit and the Trust.

To work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Education & Qualifications


  • RSCN / RN Child / Adult branch



  • Recent experience within the last 6 months of caring for babies.
  • Evidence of Child Protection awareness and training
  • Ability to prioritise workload and delegate as required.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates a commitment to educating junior staff
  • Evidence of ability to work as part of a team
