A vacancy has arisen for a dedicated and motivated Senior Fire Safety Trainer at Cambridge University Hospitals.

You willbe responsible for the fire safety training programme across the organisation, which will include off-site properties.

This role will support the Head of Fire Safety in determining a blended approach to organisational fire risk management training, which is engaging, current and compliant.

Main duties of the job

You will devise an inclusive (Bank / Agency staff, Contractors, Volunteers, etc.) training programme that will include an annual evacuation programme in support of a competency based approach, that will satisfy the statutory requirements.

You will be based at the Cambridge University Hospitals, Addenbrooke's site, however, you will also be required to work at other Trust sites and community sites as required. You will be responsible for undertaking a program of effective, blended and engaging fire safety training, which will be continually reviewed and developed, in order to deliver the programme, and educate the workforce.

On occasion, you will deputise for Trust Fire Safety Advisors and ensure compliance with Firecode and fire safety legislation.

Qualifications

Essential

  • -Hold a nationally recognised fire safety qualification and Teaching / training qualification, e.g. City and Guilds 730 or equivalent PTLLS qualification -CIPD training qualification or Certificate of Education or equivalent -Educated to Degree or has equivalent level of knowledge and skill acquired through experience -Effective facilitation skills -Level III training or management qualification or evidence of extensive experience of delivering training


Desirable

  • -Coaching / mentoring qualification or equivalent -Fire Service or NHS fire safety back ground


Experience

Essential

  • -Experience and competence for the subject areas of training delivery including induction, mandatory update, fire warden, fire incident manager and other specialist roles -Experience of developing and confidently delivering a range of training and development interventions. -Demonstrable experience of developing and confidently delivering training through a range of blended learning approaches including, face to face, virtual and through online media to over 100 people. -Experience of creating and developing own session content -Ability to assess, develop and deliver comprehensive fire training programmes based on relevant training needs analysis


Desirable

  • -Experience of working collaboratively across organisational boundaries to improve standards -Fire safety experience within the NHS or other large public sector multi-functional organisation -A good working knowledge of technical fire systems such as, fire detection, emergency lighting and other systems in relation to fire precautions

  • -Learning and development interventions and how individuals engage with learning -Knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion and how this is embedded into learning and development interventions -Knowledge of various training / learning techniques -Knowledge of fire safety, fire risk management, fire safety training, fire legislation and relevant codes of practice -Knowledge of continuous service delivery improvement
