Job summary

The successful candidate will offer high quality day to day care of patients and deliver a first class clinical service to include; outpatient/diagnostic clinics, day case theatre procedures, elective theatre activity, in patient care as required and support for on call work with acute urological admissions.

Main duties of the job

The role will predominately include ward cover across the Department. There will also be potential for involvement with in-patient and day case operating sessions with general surgery and Urology at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. The successful candidate will also have exposure to outpatient clinics and outpatient diagnostic testing.

Our Department is recognised as holding Specialist MDT status for the management of patients with complex Urological cancer. We regularly receive circa 2500 two week-wait referrals to the Urology service with a conversion rate of 21%. Each year the Urology MDT reviews over 2700 case episodes.
