Job summary

We are looking for an individual with excellent technical programme management, partnership and communication skills to drive forward the Urgent Care Transformation Programme within the Care Group in collaboration with other organisations within the ICS, Urgent Care teams, senior leaders and other stakeholders. . The post holder will be expected to work autonomously and will carry their own portfolio of work, linked to the Care Group's strategic priorities, and will report to the Associate Director of Urgent.

We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic about supporting service improvement and change to drive forward improvements in care by utilising their technical programme management and leadership skills. The post holder will be a key representative of the Trust working alongside other partners and stakeholders within the ICS. This will involve collaborative working to deliver high national priority urgent care transformation. The post holder will need strong communication skills to communicate with a range of providers, stakeholders and organisations across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICS. The post holder will have responsibility for the programme, coordinating, managing and prioritising the project teams to deliver a significant, complex and progressive programme for Urgent Care Services.

Main duties of the job

  • To manage project and programme lifecycles to ensure full delivery and implementation of the Urgent Care Transformation projects and deliver tangible benefits and improved outcomes for teams and service
  • To establish clear, measurable and deliverable benefits measurements to measure the progress and success of all elements of projects within the Urgent Care Transformation Programme.
  • Ensure that the programme and all projects are managed in adherence to the PMO Framework including, completion of all project documentation and plans and accurate and timely capturing of information, updates, changes via the Programme Management systems.
  • Responsible for recommending modifications to the programme and projects and effectively managing any project change or exception
  • Responsible for identifying and appropriately managing project and programme risks and issues and developing appropriate mitigation plans, escalating when required.
  • The post holder will be responsible for effectively reporting programme and project health through appropriate governance structures to ensure oversight and assurance of the project's progress towards successful completion
  • Ensure effective project closure including benefits realisation, lessons learned and ensuring ongoing operational embedding sustainability through effective handover to operational lead into business as usual

Job responsibilities

  • Provide advice and contribute to strategic reports/briefings for the appropriate overarching assurance & governance framework and other committees with an interest in the key projects that are specific for the Urgent Care
  • Work with the Associate Director of Urgent Care, Operations Director for Unplanned Care and Managing Director for the Care Group, to implement the transformation plan, with a focus on the projects that are aligned to national priorities for Urgent Care. Ensuring there is full transparency of any issues, and contributing to escalating and resolving issues that may delay the delivery of projects.
  • Responsible for managing and leading the implementation of Urgent Care Transformation Projects ensuring that the framework matches with service activity demands and ICS requirements.
  • To ensure the programmes governance framework is effective, ensuring that issue resolution is embedded and that risk management is aligned to the corporate approach, with corrective action taken in a timely way whilst escalating as
  • Responsible for coordinating the delivery of benefits realisation across the Urgent Care Transformation Programme, working closely with the Operational Divisions ensuring they understand the benefits of new functionality and how it can enhance and support patient
  • Managing project interdependencies within and outside of the programme, ensuring any interdependencies are assessed and mitigated so that there is minimal risk to the impact of projects and outcomes.
