An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Oncoplastic Clinical Fellow to join the Breast Team at University College London Hospitals. The post holder will be based in the Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Unit in the state of the art integrated outpatient service at the MacMillan Cancer Centre. The clinical fellow is an integral part of the team.

Main duties of the job

They spend time on the ward supporting our FY1 during the working week. They are also present in theatres to provide assistance to our consultant team and are given opportunity to learn operating techniques and skills. The post holder will also be expected to provide approximately 4 outpatient clinics per week.

Job responsibilities

This post is available immediately and is fixed term for 12 months, aimed at providing service provision as well as training opportunities to further the post-holder skills in the diagnosis and management of breast disease as well as oncoplastic breast surgery.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Full registration with GMC


Desirable

  • FRCS or MRCS or MRCP


Clinical Experience

Essential

  • Has a proven track record on the pre and post operative management of both emergency and elective surgical patients
  • Has the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Evidence of successful training to ST3+
