Are you a registered psychotherapist or accredited counsellor, looking to work in the NHS?

We're looking for an accredited counsellor or registered psychotherapist (band 6) to join our long established team of therapists at Umbrella Sexual Health Service. We are looking for a therapist that can offer 9.5 hours a week (fixed times Thursday 12noon till 5pm / Friday 11am till 3.30pm (initially on a one year fixed term contract, which as the possibility to be extended).

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a psychotherapist who's main duties will be:

*To provide psychotherapy in a sexual health environment on a face to face or remote basis.

*To keep accurate and contemporaneous client records

*To share knowledge.

*To address safeguarding issues.

*To plan and deliver complex information.

*To work with the psychotherapy lead using auditing tools such as CORE PC.

*To demonstrate a working knowledge in standard setting and quality management.

*To work autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary Team at a senior level or competence.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • *Post Graduate qualification in psychotherapy/ equivalent
  • *Accreditation with a recognised UK regulatory body (e.g. BACP, UKCP)
  • *Evidence of continuous professional development.


Experience

Essential

  • *Significant experience of client-based therapy / and clinical record keeping.
  • *Experience of working with couples and individuals with sex and relationship issues
  • *Knowledge and experience in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatment / therapy programmes, particularly for those with complex needs, who may have difficulty with engagement.
  • *Relevant current clinical experience within GU setting
  • *Draw extensively on knowledge from other fields in addition to traditional knowledge and practice.
  • *Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance, standard setting and the audit process.
  • *Experience of recruiting and managing staff/volunteers
  • *Significant knowledge of IT systems used in the monitoring of high-quality counselling services, possible experience of using CORE
  • *Experience of working independently and managing own workload and others
