If you have a passion for Trauma Informed Care and for supporting teams to work in a Trauma Informed way then we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for an 8a Psychologist with a passion for enabling services users of Inpatient and Home Treatment Teams to benefit from psychology.
As the 8a Psychologist for the teams, you will work with the Psychology Clinical Lead to provide a comprehensive and progressive psychology service for Inpatient and Urgent Care.
Main duties of the job
Your role will involve complex psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for service users and family members. You will support and guide the Assistant Psychologists and Trainee / Qualified Clinical Associate Psychologists to provide high quality brief and short interventions, both group and individual.
Your role will involve contributing to the team formulations, reflective practice, clinical supervision and staff support sessions provided by the service. This is to promote trauma informed care and staff wellbeing. You will also contribute to the development and provision of training for teams.
You will be encouraged to offer placements for psychology trainees, and to network with the wider community of psychologists and psychological therapists in the Trust. You will be encouraged to oversee and supervise service improvement projects. You will be supported in continuing professional development, and to consider research opportunities.
There is some flexibility with this post for candidates who may have a particular interest in working with either inpatient services or Home Treatment Teams. You are welcome to contact us for further information and to arrange an informal visit.

Will work within the urgent care pathway to provide a psychology service for people admitted to the acute adult wards and who are on the home treatment team caseloads with complex comorbid physical and mental health problems.
Provide specialised psychological assessment and interventions, comprehensive risk assessment for service users.
Provide clinical supervision, reflective practice, and training for psychology and multidisciplinary team members, and consultation to other teams.
Take a role in supporting the team to develop skills and competencies in relation to formulation and psychosocial interventions for people with complex mental health presentations and advocate for psychological approaches/interventions.
Support team members to improve awareness of psychological interventions both through education, supervision and through joint working or interventions as part of a care plan.
