Job summary

*This is a full time position consisting of 22.5 hours Clinical Educator and 15 hours Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge nurse.*

This new and exciting role is perfect for someone who is passionate about providing education and supporting the team in giving exceptional, evidence based care. The successful applicant will be able to motivate and develop the team and be an expert resource in all aspects of clinical care.

They will be required to provide expert advice and training relating to matters of paediatric medicine and to other areas and disciplines as appropriate. They will be a proactive role model who leads in the clinical environment on the provision of clinical education and assessments of competence in the ward/department

Alongside the clinical educator role, the role of Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge nurse will mean the successful applicant is required to support and deputise for the Ward Manager, taking managerial, clinical and professional responsibility for a team of nurses.

Nottingham Children's Hospital is set within the vibrant city of Nottingham known for its many historical sites and lively music scene. The children's hospital is housed within the Queens medical centre campus and has 116 inpatient beds across 8 inpatient wards covering all specialties, with many of our specialties being regional centres as well as two neonatal intensive care units one based at our City hospital campus.

We have an innovative Preceptorship programme to support newly qualified staff during their crucial transition period from student nurse to registered nurse as well bespoke support for those joining our teams with experience.
