Job summary

Estates and Facilities cover a vast number of services and we provide support to every area of clinical care.as part of our portfolio we manage car parking for both staff and patients and visitors. We are looking for a digital lead to support the smooth running fo the systems within the car parking team to ensure optimal outputs, maximising space utilisation and seeking to improve the experience of parking at NUH.

This post, based across both Queens Medical Centre and the City site, some flexibility around home working is possible. The role is full time, working Monday to Friday with the occasional need to work out of those hours to ensure our 24-hour services are supported.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a highly organised and experienced manager with a strong interest in quality management, digital development and delivery of data derived results for improvement. The post holder will have strong communication skills and an ability to develop strong and sustainable relationships with clinical and corporate colleagues across the organisation.

Working with the Director of Estates and Facilities, and the Head of Facilities at QMC, the role offers a unique opportunity to manage a broad range of quality assurance frameworks and monitoring processes to ensure the high-quality delivery of the car parking permit allocation, parking behaviours and car park utilisation. As well as being the digital lead for all systems, working with internal and external partners as required.

The role will require interrogation and evaluation of data from the systems, including cross referencing with other internal systems such as payroll and ESR, involvement in the preparation of high-quality reports will be key. The role will also focus on working with finance leads in the Trust to ensure the transparency of income from car parking revenue against expenditure for repairs and car park improvements. This will also require the further development of processes to maintain an accurate and detailed database of each car park across both sites.

About us

This post is a full time contract covering Monday to Friday with the occasional need to work out of those ours to ensure all 24 hour services are supported. Annual leave entitlement starts at 27 days. QMC is a busy major trauma centre acute hospital and whilst this post is based at QMC some cross site working and cover would be expected with the City site as well.

The main duties of this post are to support the Senior Management Team in relation to car parking and manage on a day to day basis the needs of the services as well as driving forward digital service improvement initiatives.

Performance management and a strategic vision will be needed to maintain and improve services going forward.

Person Specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to masters level education or equivalent plus significant work experience in relevant field.
  • Extensive knowledge of the NHS
  • Evidence of CPD


Desirable

  • Evidence of other specialist management training to post graduate level.
  • Leadership qualification/training.
  • Project management qualification/training.


Experience

Essential

  • Significant management experience with evidence of clear understanding of the NHS.
  • Proven track record of achieving challenging targets.
  • Previous experience of successful systems management
  • Experience of leading and delivering change projects within an NHS setting.
  • Experience of process redesign and service improvement tools and techniques.
  • Experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.
  • Experience of recruitment/supervision.
  • Experience of training internal and external stakeholders in relation to digital systems.
  • Proven track record of managing budgets and budget management experience.


Desirable

  • Experience in Estates & Facilities including quality frameworks and assurance processes.
  • Understanding of income generating services.
