Our five hospitals - Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea, St Mary's and The Western Eye - have a long track record in research and education, influencing clinical practice nationally and worldwide. We also have a growing number of community services and provide private healthcare in dedicated facilities on all of our sites, including at the Lindo Wing at St Mary's.

We are looking for a talented, experienced and enthusiastic Senior Analyst to work in the Business Intelligence Team providing analytics support to the corporate division.

This role will support delivery of the Division's priorities including:
  • development and delivery of the Trust's Operational Scorecards
  • development and delivery of daily Sit Reps
  • development and delivery of Harm Free Care reporting

The successful candidate will have a strong technical skills (Excel and SQL essential, QlikView or QlikSense desirable) and NHS knowledge and experience.

The role involves on site working for a minimum of one per day week.

Main duties of the job

To be part of a team providing complete, accurate and timely Business Intelligence to support performance, research and education. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will have specific areas of reporting and analytics for which they will take lead responsibility. This could include business planning, demand and capacity modelling, income support, data quality and mandatory reporting. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, the role supports the Business Intelligence Business Partner to prioritise areas for development. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst reports directly to the Business Intelligence Business Partner and deputises in his/her absence.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential

  • Masters degree (or relevant occupational experience).
  • Postgraduate qualification in relevant area or equivalent experience.


Desirable

  • Management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Qualification in Project Management
  • Association of Professional Healthcare Analysts professional registration


Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in Health Informatics ideally in a Business Analyst role
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements, NHS data standards and definitions
  • Good understanding of NHS performance monitoring systems
  • Knowledge of NHS contracting & payment by results
  • Experience of communicating complex issues and data concepts to a range of people
  • Advanced knowledge and competent use of Patient Administration System and other HealthCare I.T. systems
  • Advanced use of SQL to extract data from large complex databases.
  • Advanced use of Excel (macro level).
  • Experience of managing projects including use of project plans, identifying risks, etc
