Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a new Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner in Home Treatment Team South West. We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner who has experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team. You will need significant post qualification experience in mental health and desirably within crisis services. The post requires practitioners to be confident assessors who can make clear decisions about risk management, care planning and the appropriateness of home treatment team interventions. Effective gatekeeping assessment and the identification and delivery of the best treatment packages for people presenting to services in crisis.
Qualified nurses are currently benefiting from Retention Allowance. It is a 10% pay uplift on the top of HCAS Fringe payment.
This allowance is subject to a minimum total payment of �3,553 and a maximum total payment of �4,528 p.a. This will be paid on a monthly basis and pro-rata to hours worked.
The candidate must have a full and valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role.
Main duties of the job
Able to provide quality care that is responsive to service users needs without direct supervision. Skills in clinical assessment/baseline mental health assessment. Skills in risk assessment and risk management and crisis management within a community setting. Ability to communicate and work effectively within Multi - disciplinary team setting. Ability to manage and prioritise workload. Ability to deal with distressing situation and challenging behaviour. Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication. Good IT skills.
