Main duties of the job

We offer a strong commitment to professional development through appraisal, personal development plans and postgraduate study. A Practice Development team provides staff with a comprehensive package of training & clinical support and all our midwives are released from clinical work to attend an annual comprehensive mandatory training programme.

We are looking for dedicated and motivated midwives with high standards of clinical and communication skills, who are enthusiastic and willing to develop their skills. The post is a rotational post, which incorporates working in all clinical settings. For newly qualified midwives, we offer a 12 month preceptorship programme, rotating through the clinical areas and supported by the Practice Development team. Following a period of orientation to the unit there will be opportunities for all midwives to enhance their personal development within our midwifery led Birth Centre.

The updated CQC report from July 2018 rated Hillingdon Maternity as \good with \outstanding for being well-led.

As part of the development and modernisation of our services, we have a dedicated homebirth team who caseload the women/birthing people under their care. They work closely with the midwives within our dedicated Birth Centre to facilitate continuity of care. We are looking to develop further continuity across a variety of care pathways for the women / birthing people across this sector.
