Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a registered nurse to support the Tuberculosis Nursing team in the management and control of Tuberculosis (TB).

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate effective communication skills and be able to support and assist the team within the wider service remit in the control and prevention of TB. You will develop knowledge and skills in order to contribute towards the delivery of expert TB care in the community, working in collaboration with Public Health England, the local authority, and voluntary sector organisations.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to work in conjunction with the band 6 TB nurses assisting with caseload management for patients with non-complexed standard tuberculosis, running nurse led, BCG vaccination and TB screening clinics. You will work within a dynamic and innovative culture that is focused on delivering quality patient care.

The TB nursing service are a community-based team that deliver care both in the community and acute trust settings working across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. If you recognise these traits in yourself then we would love to hear from you.

This is a Monday to Friday service 8.30 am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays) the applicant will be expected to have a flexible approach to working.

  • RGN/RN/Diploma Nursing Studies
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development/Portfolio


Knowledge

Essential

  • Current legislation and impact on nursing services
  • Evidence based practice
  • Understanding of audit processes, Key Performance Indicators and Targets, CQUIN collection data and Quality Monitoring Programmes
  • Integrated Team working


Desirable

  • Mentorship or evidence of supervision/teaching/team management
  • To demonstrate an understanding of proactive caseload management.
  • Understanding of research methodology and audit
  • To have an understanding of the principles of restorative practice
